Sandhya Mridul who had never really got an opportunity to shake a leg in any of her films due to the roles she played, is now letting herself free on the sets of the dance competition “Jhalak Dikhla Ja”.

Apart from this, what has come as a pleasant surprise or rather as a “shock” to Sandhya, is that after seeing her sizzle to the song “Mehbooba Mehbooba”, she has been offered an item song by G.S Entertainment in their forthcoming film which is to be directed by Bunty Walia.

According to a source, Sandhya has agreed to do the item number though she did not feel that her image works upto that of an item girl!

Sandhya who is apparently very skeptical about the whole issue, is considering the offer as a golden opportunity, but has preferred to keep it silent before anything materializes. She is surely excited about her stance in “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa” about which she said, “My world has changed I can now figure out the difference between a cha cha cha and a rock-and-roll and a samba. It is definitely an overwhelming experience for me.”

Sandhya sure is a lucky girl!

Arshad Warsi ‘s stars are surely shining up in the sky. After his mind blowing performances in “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “Dhamaal” and “Golmaal”. He is all set to put one step ahead and put all his creativity into other departments of film making too!

Yes! “Circuit” as we all know him, is turning into a producer! He will be seriously beginning this soon under the banner “Shooting Star Pvt Ltd”.

Not only this, Arshad has been secretly working on a script for quite sometime now. Though he refuses to make any announcements as yet, it comes as no surprise that many big banners have shown a lot of interest in investing with Warsi’s company!

All that is confirmed till now is that his first venture will be directed by none other than Raja Sen, who is currently directing Rakesh Roshan’s “Krazy 4”.

We will soon get to know if this star will himself act in his home production or let the films create magic without his presence.

Ritesh Deshmukh has probably been the trend setter to all the politician sons who have wanted to join the bandwagon of films! This time it is Union Minister of Steel, Chemicals and fertilizers, Ram Vilas Paswan’s son Chirag who has forayed into films.

Chirag admits to always have films on his mind. After completing his graduation, he decided to take up his inclination seriously. He will debut in friend and film maker Anuj Saxena’s film which is yet to come up with a title. “We are in the process of locking in the script of the film after which the crew and cast will fall into place”, says Anuj.

While some believe that having a mentor inBollywood is very important, for Chirag, it’s the right approach and hard work that eventually pays off.

With a well chiseled face and body, this Paswan is sure to give other aspiring actors a run for their money!
The charming and chubby Vidya Balan has shed quite a few kilos of weight recently but not because someone had asked her too but due to a sheer self realization to look good in every character she plays.

“Recently I was in Toronto for two months where I used to go for long walks. That has helped get in shape”, she admits. Her appearance in “Hey Baby”, “Lage Raho Munnabhai” and the recent “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, have been refreshingly different from one another.

But it’s not just her looks but the good wishes of both her fans and family that have got Vidya at such a level. Her strong willed attitude coupled with a lot of hard work has got her films with pivotal roles.

Talking about her forthcoming projects, Balan said, “Every script demands a different performance from the last one and as an actor, I want to continually play varied roles.”

At present, vivacious Vidya is happy the way her career is shaping up.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is keen on playing a good Bahu than playing a steamy romance on-screen with anyone other than hubby Abhishek. However, producer Rohan Sippy is bent on having her in his next film and is planning to fly to Boston to convince her. Sriram Raghavan, who is directing the yet untitled film, and John Abraham, who will play the male lead, too are eager to have Aishwarya. In fact, when their first celluloid pairing in Raghavan’s ‘Happy Birthday’ fell apart, John was bitterly disappointed to have lost a viable co-star.

Aishwarya on the other hand is playing safe with her choice of roles. She left Karan Johar’s film because she didn’t want to play a woman who has many men in her life. Now, in Sriram’s film, she’d rather not do an intense romance with John.

A source close to Aishwarya said, “After marriage, Aishwarya’s personal and professional priorities have changed completely. She’ll do nothing that would even remotely compromise her position as the Bachchan daughter-in-law.”
After the mega success of his acting debut, “Aap Ka Suroor”, singer Himesh Reshammiya seems to be the busy man of Bollywood. What is most interesting is that Reshammiya will be seen without his trademark cap in some of his forthcoming films!

There are quite a few films which are due to release early next year. First there is Pooja Bhatt’s 30 crore musical films that is all set to be shot in the plush locations of Africa, Pakistan and Europe.

Then there is ace film maker John Mathew Mathan’s film in which Himesh will portray the role of a typical Tapori who falls in love with a rich girl.

The third and the most interesting film of the lot is the remake of showman Subhash Ghai’s “Karz”. Now apparently Urmila will get to play the role of Simi Garewal while there is a new entry for Tina Munim’s part.

While the search for fresh faces seems to go on and on it is certain that Himesh always has something more to offer his audiences each time his film hits the silver screen!

With the Fridays most expected release “Laga Chunri Mein Daag”, hitting the theatres on October 12th, the world hasn’t stopped praising Kolkata based designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for his innovative and stylish sense of dressing up the three leading ladies of the film Jaya Bachchan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Rani Mukherjee.

From the simple small town girl of Varanasi, to the seductive and hot Natasha of Mumbai, actress Rani Mukherjee is not only at her acting best but also dawns some perfectly tailored dresses by this versatile designer. Even Konkona looks the typical “Banaras Ki Gori” in all her outfits.

Since the first half of the film is shot in Benaras, Sabyasachi has done his bit by designing colourful and vibrant suits with short kurtas to the two young sisters, Rani and Konkona, while he has given soft toned cotton saris to Jayaji, their mother.

While the promos have already captivated most eye balls, it will be a sheer treat to see all the three beautiful women of the film along with Abhishek Bachchan, Kunal Kapoor and Anupam Kher, to mesmerize their fans all over again.
